Mr. Arjuna, who plays a central role in managing TVK’s election campaigns and strategy, alleged that on July 10, he and his team noticed a recurring presence of unidentified individuals, including a suspicious autorickshaw and a four-wheeler, stationed at different times outside his office on Kasthuri Rangan Road in Alwarpet, a prominent area in the city.

According to his complaint, the individuals appeared to be monitoring movements in and out of his premises and exhibited behavior that was unusual and alarming. Despite multiple attempts by staff to confront or identify them, the individuals reportedly left the area hurriedly each time they were approached.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Arjuna stated,

"This isn’t the first time I have felt uneasy about certain movements around my workplace. But what happened on July 10 was beyond normal suspicion. We believe there could be an attempt to intimidate or target me for political reasons."

He added that the threat may be politically motivated, considering TVK’s growing popularity and its plans to contest several constituencies in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

In his letter to the police, Arjuna requested the deployment of surveillance cameras in the vicinity, a thorough review of CCTV footage, and round-the-clock patrolling in the area. He also urged that the registration numbers of the vehicles in question be traced to determine the individuals involved.

A source from the Greater Chennai Police confirmed receipt of the complaint and said preliminary inquiries are underway. "We take any threat to public figures seriously. Based on the initial details provided by Mr. Arjuna, we have begun examining surveillance footage and will determine if further protection is warranted," the official said.

As a precaution, TVK volunteers have been stationed near Arjuna’s office, and the party leadership has requested additional police presence in light of the situation.

This incident comes at a time when TVK, founded by actor Vijay, has been increasing its grassroots-level presence across the state and gaining traction among first-time voters.
