In a significant step towards encouraging youth-led innovation, Tamil Nadu's Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), T.M. Anbarasan, officially launched the ‘Nimirnthu Nil’ initiative on Wednesday. The program is specifically designed to cultivate entrepreneurial skills and innovative thinking among college and university students.

Transforming Campuses into Innovation Hubs

‘Nimirnthu Nil’ will focus on students from over 2,000 higher education institutions annually. The initiative aims to offer structured training and mentorship in startup culture, business development, and problem-solving, turning student ideas into scalable ventures.

Ambitious Targets and Budget

The Tamil Nadu government has allocated ₹19.57 crore for the five-year rollout of the program. With this funding, the initiative hopes to train 30.5 lakh students in key areas of entrepreneurship and innovation, building a strong base for future economic growth led by the youth.

A Strategic Push for MSME Sector

By linking academic institutions to real-world entrepreneurial challenges, ‘Nimirnthu Nil’ is expected to fuel new-age micro, small and medium enterprises, contributing directly to the state’s economy and job creation landscape.
